March 25-27th Three day Easter trial to Akaroa

June 10th  First Mile grasstrack at Washdyke Jockey Club venue
Sept 3rd  Ashburton Motorcycle Club formed
Oct 10th Inter-club ride with new club to Peel Forest
Dec 12th 2nd Mile grass meeting at Washdyke course
   
1918  
June Committee cancels hillclimb due to petrol shortage
   
1919  
Feb 20th Last Grass mile meet at Washdyke course
   
1927  
June 25th    Reliability Trial bans 2 strokes and has solo and sidecar classes
July Incorporation of South Canterbury motorcycle Club Incorporated
Aug 11th ‘Round the World’ BSA Riders visit Timaru and entertained by the Club
   
1930  
January Sir Charles Wakefield donates cup for competition within the club
   
1932  
August Sunbeam Cup donated for novice rider in the 24hr trial
   
1935  
January Secretary wrote to Dunedin club for the loan of crash helmets for Tycho 
  Hill Climb – pillion trial became an annual event
   
1938  
early working bees at Tycho Hill to erect a permanent wire for the timing set
late new grasstrack at Kingsdownbe for Miniature TT
late Nov  2 Day 24hr trial
   
1940  
July 16th club goes into recess for the duration of the war
   
1946  
August 28th Club AGM with 17 members, Tycho Hill Climb, 4hr trial & runs continue
   
1947  
April 26th First recorded use of the Taiko Hill Climb name
June 7th First post-war club dance and trophy presentation
Oct 29th  Nov 15th Taiko hill Climb cancelled due to lack of entries
   
1948  
Early club pays 2 pound/week for advertising slides in the 2 Timaru cinemas
   arranges a bus and 24 dozen cordials for the Taiko Hill Climb
   
1949  
March 5th Taiko Hill climb plus Showgrounds grasstrack April 30 & May 7th
July 6th AGM introduces monthly meetings to counter lack of enthusiasm
   
1950  
Feb 24th  club committee of last 6 months turbulent with resignations
   
1951  
Jan 29th club applies to run NZ Flying Half-Mile Record event
Aug 2nd club to look at holding a road race
Aug 11th AGM report that NZ Flying Half-Mile Les lamb of Oamaru set new record
  of 139.46mph on Vincent 1000
   
1953  
Oct 13th club to hold 2 day grasstrack meeting over Labour weekend
   
1954  
Feb  Taiko on April 3rd to incl new class up to 250cc – Lightweight Handicap
   
1955  
Jan 20th a night trial to be run
April 14th   meeting to wind up Waimate MCC and club collects PA system
Aug 21st club petrol economy run won by R Swain with 276 miles per gallon

Mar 11th South Island 250 miniature TT Championship Gleniti
July First mud scramble
Aug 1st  club pennants stay the property of club & hired to members @ 3/6 each

Mar 17th  NZ 500 Miniature TT Champs at Kingsdown

Dec 21st Waimate Centenial Road Race, and club holds NZ 350 Min TT

  Ivan Boorer wins NZ Hill Climb title at Nelson
May 31st  NZ Min TT at Darlings Farm, won by 20 yr old Bill Veitch of Dunedin
  2nd Ivan Mauger and 3rd Dave Burns both of Christchurch
 June 1st Dave Burns wins SI 350 title at Taiko
Labour Day Circuit racing at Saltwater Creek (dirt flattrack)
Nov 21st  Jubilee Evening at West End Hall with Darlings grasstrack next da

Dec 27th combined go kart and motorcycle meeting at Levels

Jan 31st National Road Race event at Levels with Ron Grant (USA)
July 29th  AGM approves a production road race at levels to attract new members
  Grasstrack meetings with Stock Car Club at Redruth very succesful

Feb 3rd  Road Race at levels-Ron Grant (USA) wins the four races  
July 21st  club ¼ mile sprint Bet Munroe Indian 109.76 mph fastest time

Oct 19th road race sidecars race at Levels for the first time with top solo rider
  Fields in mini ‘Marlboro’ meeting with North versus South teams
   
1975  
Jan 4th  4th Round Marlboro International Series Levels with 20 overseas rider
   
1976  
April club writes to NZ International MC GP Society couldn’t commit to such
  a large meeting again
1977  
Jan 8-9th Round 4 of 1976-77 Marlboro Series Meet Levels 28 international riders
  and 3 overseas sidecar teams NZ Motocross Champs
